Option to Use Multiple HDMI Displays
- Link to video tutorial:
IMPORTANT! The attached video instruction duplicates the points of this text instruction. You can use any of the options at your discretion.
1. General information
1.1. The Multiple HDMI Displays option is used to broadcast gameplay to additional displays, such as monitors or TVs.
1.2. To make everything work properly, the displays must be connected directly to the server via HDMI cable.
2. Necessary presets
2.1. In order for this option to work correctly, you need to do the following:
-
You need to connect the displays directly to the server using an HDMI cable.
-
In the system settings, it is necessary to select the Combine mode for displays, otherwise the option will not work correctly.
To enable this option, right-click on the desktop > Select the Display settings section (1) > In the System section (2), select the Extend these displays option (3)
2.2. Another important detail - do not choose too high resolution for the additional display. For example, if you choose 4K resolution, the load on the graphics card will be too great, which is why games may work unstably.
-
Recommended resolution: 1024 x 768
2.3. The next step is to Activate the option in the Device Manager settings. At the moment, the option is only available for the Shmooter game.
-
To activate it, go to the Games tab (4) > Shmooter (5) > Output to all HDMI displays (6)
Done! Now let's look at how this option works using an example.
3. Example of the Output to all HDMI displays option
3.1. After completing the above settings, you need to launch the game:
3.2. When you launch the game with this option, the game always launches in full screen mode.
-
And in order to switch between the game window and the Device Manager, use the key combination Alt + Tab.
3.3. To control the camera, you need to use the combination:
-
Hold ALT + Mouse Movement
3.4. After starting the game, two new buttons will appear to the right of the camera menu to switch between displays: Display_1 and Display_2 (2)
4. Example of using two HDMI displays.
4.1. Switching between displays can be used as follows:
-
For example, for the first display, you can activate the automatic first-person camera change mode. To do this, click the On button (1), after clicking the button color will change (2)
4.2. Next, let's switch to the second display (3).
-
And for it we will select Static camera angle (4) and display Current players rating (5) on the screen
IMPORTANT! When selecting modes for the second display, pay attention to the second physical monitor! Because you will not see any changes on the server monitor. Because of this, you might think that the option is not working correctly!
4.3. From the outside it will look like this: on one display the first person view is enabled. In turn, on the second display the rating is displayed on a static background.
-
As a result, for each monitor we can display the image we are interested in.
